SVG Professor to Participate in Study for Fogarty International

The Saint James School of Medicine is pleased to announce that its very own Dr. Shata, a professor at SJSM-St. Vincent, will participate in the NIH study section for Fogarty International in Washington D.C. Dr. Shata was selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to serve in the International and Cooperative projects study sections. NIH is the nation’s medical research agency supporting scientific studies that turn discovery into health. It is also an important service for research internationally. Dr. Shata is a permanent member of the International and Cooperative projects -1 study section from 2013 until 2017. The selection of the study section is of high prestige to researchers, and few researchers in the U.S. and around the world had been selected to serve in the NIH study sections in the NIH.
