Students: Aimon Ahmad, NaQuada Dundas
Mentor: Dr. A. Pryakhin, MD, PhD
Whatever we do in medicine: diagnosis, treatment, risk evaluation, harm, cost-benefit analysis, all algorithms, guidelines and recommendations are based on several research levels: basic research (on cellular/subcellular level, in test tubes and on tissues, on experimental animals…), followed by clinical trials on humans. The results are then compiled into some kind of a review before presented to the world as evidence based results. That is how SVG students presented the pathopgysiological mechnisms of H.pylori caused gastric cancer – the fourth most common cancer in men.
