Analysis of Outcomes of Bariatric Surgery for Weight Loss Management and on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Management:  A Systematic Review

The majority of patients with type 2 diabetes are either overweight or obese, and unable to achieve significant and sustained weight loss with diet and lifestyle measures. Additionally, less than half patients achieve the recommended targets for hemoglobin (Hb)A1c, cholesterol levels or blood pressure. Does the bariatric surgery help?
